Hotel overview
On Jamaica’s north coast, in the quiet fishing village of Oracabessa, GoldenEye is where literary legend meets barefoot island living. Here, in 1946, Ian Fleming built his retreat and, over eighteen years, wrote all fourteen James Bond novels. His original desk remains in the GoldenEye Villa, at the heart of the 52-acre estate.
Today GoldenEye is a collection of villas, lagoon cottages and thatched beach huts woven through tropical gardens and around a private, reef-protected cove. Island Records founder Chris Blackwell transformed the estate into a hideaway while preserving its spirit – open-air living, music on the breeze and locally grown ingredients.
Through the GoldenEye Foundation, founded in 1995, guests can support the Oracabessa Bay Fish Sanctuary and Jamaica’s first non-profit dive centre, joining reef dives and sea turtle nesting walks.
